The Dark Poet’s
Mission Statement

The Dark Poet Foundation:

My aim is to become a registered charity where I can use my poetry to raise funds to improve the support for people, to help them and their families manage whilst they are going through and repairing from hard times, and to also educate and show ways for them and their family to not only live with but to completely thrive living with mental health.

The Dark Poet Foundation will host fundraising events bringing together poetry, support services and local businesses.

No-one should have to feel alone and isolated and the current services out there are stretched to the maximum with limited or no financial support from the government.

An Emergency Service:

All of the numbers for support, whether it’s for mental health, drugs and alcohol, domestic abuse, debts, finances trauma or grief, or whatever the issue is that an individual or a family are going through, there is already a service to help and support you with that but as we all know it’s an absolute struggle trying to find the right service and in an appropriate amount of time.

A lot of people are in the wrong service as well so you could be waiting months for help to find out you have been referred to the wrong organisation to then have to wait even longer for the right help for you.

My first aim for this is to establish a switchboard where there is only one number that people need to remember, this number will be ran by trained volunteers who will discuss the immediate issue and ensure you are safe from harm and then signposted to the right service for further support (Kind of like a mental health 111)

My second aim and which is my ultimate goal, is to have a 999 mental health service which is dedicated to purely supporting individuals and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties in times of need. This will ensure that individual’s struggling with poor mental health AND their families are supported and treated properly.

This will help take the pressure of other emergency services.

Together we can beat the stigma…..
Together we can repair…..
Together we can survive…….
